Locomotives and tenders in modular kit formBy building it yourself, not only are you saving money, but you will have the satisfaction of producing your own working model, and being modular, you can buy each kit separately and build at your own speed. You don’t even have to buy a full set of kits, you may want just the chassis and fit your own boiler and body, or a chassis and boiler then build your own body to suit; it's as flexible as you make it. There are also two types of tender in kit form.Building a steam locomotive is not the easiest of projects, but these kits contain all the necessary parts together with detailed instructions, and require only basic tools for assembly. No machining is necessary, though a couple of holes will require drilling and the bodywork is designed for soft soldered construction. These are not 'build it in one evening' kits, however any average modeller with care and patience can build a model to be proud of. Painting of all items is left to the builder. NOTE: Chassis parts are designed for use with (l.6mm or l6swg) thick mainframes of "outside frame" design. Boilers, cylinders and valve-gears are supplied with full installation instructions. | ||
