Welshpool and Llanfair No.14

"No 14" was built by Hunslet in 1954, the last of 32 similar locomotives supplied to the Sierra Leone Government Railways. In 1975 the engine was due to be scrapped, but was rescued from the torch and returned from West Africa to a new life on the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.

This is a model of the loco in its 1998 condition and, as standard, it is supplied in its North Staffs Railway madder lake paint finish.

The model is internally gas fired and has twin channel radio control for speed and direction. It is fitted with our standard water level check valve and lubricator drain valve both of which are piped away be1ow the footplate so the cab floor can be kept clean.

The engine has rechargeable batteries for both loco and transmitter, those on the loco have to be charged in situ. A suitable charger is available.

The model is enhanced by many brass castings which add a high leve1 or detail to this scale model.

Although of showcase standard this model of "No 14" is very strongly built and easy to use. It will give hours of pleasure, running on your garden railway.
