These individually detailed models are designed by Nicola Ratnett using her own observations, photographs, and existing plans. They are built to 16mm scale to run on 32mm or 45mm gauge track. Note that due the individual nature of these models, the dimensions given above are approximate, and may vary by 1 or 2 mm.
The models are constructed with a plywood shell faced with individual lime and pine wood planking. They are complete with fully functional brass hinges and door hasps, and ‘glazed’ windows with bars fitted as appropriate. They are ready to run with whitemetal centre buffers complete with coupling hooks, whitemetal axle boxes, and steel wheels/axles.
Models are normally supplied unpainted and untreated in any way, for you to add your own livery. But any internal detailing (for example, the coffin in the hearse van) is painted appropriately. Due to popular demand, a full painting service is now available. Please allow between £35 and £45 extra for each model. Note that the “Tatty Trucks” range is supplied painted and weathered, at no extra cost.
Where appropriate there are internal details including various items of luggage, workmen's equipment, etc. As each wagon is individually built, these items will vary. Indeed, no two are exactly the same. Typically, these include packing cases, secure trunks (to hold explosives maybe), suitcases, bundles of rope, timber and chain, as well as the odd violin!
All items are normally held in stock. More designs are always under development - we are open to suggestions for new models.
