Among the companies providing equipment to the War Department Light Railways during the First World War was the Baldwin Locomotive Works, of Philadelphia, USA. Locos, of this type ran on the Glyn Vally, Ashover, and Snailbeach Railways among others. The last WD Baldwin ran in the UK only example currently working in the UK is No. 778, on the Leighton Buzzard Railway.
Accucraft UK Ltd is now producing a limited edition of the WD Baldwin 4-6-0 locomotive. The model is constructed from brass and stainless steel with a copper boiler, and features full rivet detailing to cab,
tanks, and bunker. It is live steam (gas fired) with manual control only.
